Midsummer, Litha, is a joyous, magical day of the year. The Summer Solstice is the day to celebrate light's victory over darkness and the abundance that light brings into life. Bless the Nature Spirits and perform divination. The borders between the worlds are thin, especially at twilight and dawn; the ‘tween times. Midsummer is also the Feast of Faeries. Welcome them and be blessed with joy and insight. Light the charcoal grill and/or hobo stoves to prepare for the feast. Save the embers for protection from injuries and bad weather. If you have a container or yard garden, place the cold embers around the plants to ensure abundance.

Midsummer Celebration

Scarlet red, brilliant orange, dazzling gold and bright yellow cloths and candles in brass holders adorn the altar. Place silk, potted, dried and/or cut summer flowers, such as baby’s breath, lavender, bachelor’s buttons, carnations, roses, daisies, geraniums, gladiolus, hydrangeas, wild flowers, and water lilies are in glass or brass vases and bowls, pinwheels, to represent the sun, crystal quartz and seashells to on the altar and feast table. Burn rose and lavender incense. Wear bright clothing and flowers.

Fill a fireproof container with dried herbs and incense. Light them and visualize pain, sorrow and negativity in the flames and smoke. As the smoke evaporates, the pain will be purified and released. Perform acts of magick is desired. Give thanks for the abundance that will come.
