Six country artists are nominated for the 2011 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Award for "Entertainer of the Year." The nominees include Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. The awards are scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The "Entertainer of the Year" award is handed out as the last of the night, since it is considered to be the most prestigious. Typically, the nominated artist's live concert ticket sales play a major factor in determining the winner. This year however, this top honor is fan-voted, where the fans have a final say as to who wins.
Taylor Swift
In 2009, Swift became the youngest female country singer to win the Country Music Association (CMA) version of this prize. Swift is the current frontrunner to win this ACM award, especially since it is fan-voted, and based on her Social Media statistics, Swift has over five million followers on her Twitter page.
